The Friction Folders from Deviant Blades are affordable custom knives that are designed to be legal to carry in places with stringent knife laws. The blade is non-locking. The blade has an extended tang that when in the open position is “locked” in place with the thumb on the spine. Friction at the pivot keeps the blade in the closed position.
This Chinese Friction folder has a satin finished steel blade with a leaf shape and thumb hole (licensed from Spyderco). The handle has black peel-ply textured G-10 slabs, front and back.
Filip De Leeuw is the man behind Deviant Blades. He started making knives in 2003 and hasn’t stopped. His custom knives have great style, build quality and are crafted in Belgium.
