Automatic conversion of the popular and long discontinued Lake PAL from CRKT. With a simple push of the button, the blade is deployed and ready for use.
Button locks aren’t new. They have been a puzzle that kept knifemakers awake at night. Typically, they have required a complex mix of liner-type springs, top spring bars and a separate pin stop. Then Ron Lake solved the riddle. His patent pending Piston Activated Lock (P.A.L.™) has just one hardened piston which acts as a stop pin and locking and release mechanism. Study it. At first it’s an enigma, then you realize it’s the most user-friendly folder imaginable.
The P.A.L.’s open build frame of 420J2 stainless steel has a satin finish, with threaded stainless steel spacers and jigged bone inlays, a first for CRKT. It offers supreme strength and rigidity, with the warmth of traditional materials.
The blade is premium AUS 8 stainless steel, in a modified drop point shape with a satin finish. It is available with a Razor-Sharp or Combination Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated edges.
